SOUTH DAKOTA'S STORY: “Amateur baseball in South Dakota is the heartbeat of our state,” Chris said. “Every small town has a team and that town breathes baseball following that team.” In 2016, the Angels made South Dakota history. For the first time in the 76-year history of amateur baseball in South Dakota, the Angels had a perfect season — 28 – 0. That they did it while honoring a fallen soldier makes the season even better.
